Yoga and Back Pain

Back pain is so common because of our lifestyle  and the way we use (or don’t use) our bodies.

We make very limited use of our back in our normal day to day life and also adopt poor postural habits which begin at school and continue in the home.

Learning to stretch with good alignment and movement patterns helps protect our backs from injury.

In yoga, the slow and calming exercises help to teach you correct techniques which will allow you to maintain good posture.

There are specific yoga postures which are designed to de-stress the body, replenish the energy and remove fatigue from the muscles.

These postures undertaken regularly are the best measures you can take to keep the spine supple and to correct the postural defects that we pick up in the course of our daily life.
